It's been a while but I finally have search working on the site again. I was having a heck of a time trying to get the older version of Sphinx (specifically SphinxSE) working, but I was finally able to get the new version (0.9.9) up and running! While searching could use a bit of polish, it works quite well for searching over the title and body of old posts. Still to be implemented is the ability to search through songs and tags.

Even though I had issues with SphinxSE on the older version, I'm a huge fan of Sphinx in general. It's a great way to switch to using InnoDB without having to keep MyISAM around for FULLTEXT indexes. It's also fast and scalable.

Anyways enjoy being able to search! I think I was probably the only person that actually searched my blog but, if nothing else, it's a great convenience for me ;)
