Graham Rahal without a ride in IndyCar, wtf?

The first race of the 2010 IndyCar season is almost upon us and I am getting quite excited! Unfortunately my excited has been somewhat stifled by hearing that Graham Rahal might not have a ride in 2010 and already missed the open testing. As a whole it seems IndyCar has started to see both an uptick in drivers and fans over recent years and I think that trend is continuing. Part of the problem may be the move to putting most of the IndyCar races on VERSUS. Though I do like the coverage they provide DirectTV no longer carries the network and it is yet another sports network David trying to go up against the ESPN goliath.

Nonetheless, for Graham not to have any options is very surprising. That guy is both young and full of talent and a huge asset to IndyCar. Seems like something could be done but either way I hope he finds sponsorship, with luck, before the first race. While we're on the subject, GEICO stop being stingy bitches and sponsor Paul Tracy for a full season! Say what you want about PT, he brings a huge entertainment value to IndyCar and I, too, think he is an asset to the series.

All that said, one thing I am excited about is the new chassis and engine designs, as well as the return (hopefully) of multiple engine manufacturers. Not so excited about having to wait until 2012 to see them but oh well. Should be fun stuff when they finally do get here. I really hope they reintroduce turbos!
