…that no one will get to hear. It was in a dream I had last night. I was in a band performing live and after doing some weird rap-song thing, we just started sort of messing around. I was using the Rock Band 3 keytar (don’t knock it – it’s a great, relatively cheap, velocity sensitive and portable MIDI keyboard) and had this wicked pitch bend thing going on with one of the SID patches. I can’t remember which one, but it is a patch I tend to use often I think (probably a detuned square of some sort).

It has this creepy sound to it, but one of my band-mates (who was old friend from high school I think, I mean in reality) picked up on it and started singing the song I can’t remember. I started playing some chords and more creepy things with the pitch-bend and the other members started throwing down the beat, etc. When we hit the chorus, I realized it would fit well with another song and the two of us sang this rock symphony mashup of epicness.

I think one of the songs was Hotel California, but that doesn’t sound right to me. I do remember that the chorus matched perfectly and the other parts of each song was sort of thrown in as a call and answer sort of thing. It was killer! I woke up to write it down only to end up having woken up in another dream and not realize it. By the time I actually woke up, I could only remember a few notes and sort of the general idea. Like I remember fairly vividly most of the parts of the dream…

…except the music.
