…and freaked out Camden as we think he was standing by it (and next to our couch) so he could have some privacy while he pooped. The sub let out a series of growls, then POP! Nothing. It probably didn’t help Camden’s fear factor that I was playing Borderlands on the TV as well. Sorry guy! In any case, I opened it up today to find what appears to be a blown capacitor as well as possibly another blown item I can’t identify. Both put a lovely amount of black dust (carbon?) and gunk all over the board. A capacitor would be both easy and cheap to fix but if I can’t identify the other component, I may be SOL. She was a good sub. At least the speaker is probably ok. If I can’t fix it, I probably won’t be able to replace it exactly soon but oh well. It lasted a decent amount of time for modern electronics and was actually on most of the time since I haven’t been able to get the power sleep mode working (probably was a factor in its ultimate reliability). Oh well…
